Kathy White, LMHC
Kathy, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, graduated with her Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky and has over 25 years of experience working as a Counselor. Kathy has been married for 37 years. She and her husband have 4 successful children. Her children are and have always been her passion. Proudly, they are all doing well, one a Pharmacist, the next an Electrical Engineer in the Air Force, A Medical Doctor and her youngest daughter Julia is a junior in Nursing School. Kathy believes all individuals can achieve success and personal fulfillment. In her therapy, Kathy helps families find a balance between overachieving and underachieving. She believes families can adapt and make changes that will help children achieve their goals now and later in life. She is a certified Parent Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Her strengths in the field include listening, motivating, establishing rapport, and helping individuals to be “their own therapist” and “to solve their own issues”. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys boating, bike riding, horseback riding, reading, and working on charity events such as Manatee Hope.
Virginia Gibala, M.A., LMHC
Virginia is a bilingual mental health counselor who graduated with a Master of Arts degree from Webster University. She has over 10 years of experience and believes that mental health is necessary to be healthy in other areas of our lives. Virginia is very empathetic with her clients which makes them feel understood. She also works well with parents and often gives them ideas for home carryover of counseling strategies. In her spare time, Virginia likes to go on trips with her family, exercise, and spend time with friends.
Mary A. Pogan, LCSW
Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She attended St. Leo University where she obtained her Masters in Clinical Social Work. Her background involves working 5 years as a licensed counselor and 30 years as a parent. I Mary grew up in upstate NY and lived there until 2000 when her family moved here to Bradenton, FL. She has been married for 32 years, with 3 children, and now 1 grandchild. Mary’s professional skills and areas of interest include: Licensed Clinical Social Work, Internship Counselor working with sexually abused children and adolescents, courses in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), taught mindfulness to kids in elementary school “Mindful Kids Program”; Solution focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Mary chose to become a therapist because, “I’m passionate about connecting with others in a meaningful way, sharing their challenges and successes. I view therapy less about giving advice and more about listening, understanding and problem solving together. I was a parent long before I became a therapist and I hope to be a partner with families to guide them through life’s difficulties. I know how hard it is to talk about problems in our families. But, it’s worth it. It’s so rewarding to see how small steps can lead to big changes in our day to day experience.” In her free time Mary loves spending time with family, boating, gardening, and taking long walks while listening to audiobooks.
Robyn Spirtas, Ph.D.
Robyn Spirtas is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology. Born in NYC, she moved with her family to Florida at the age of 5 and has been here ever since. She was raised on the East Coast of Florida and moved to the West Coast as an adult. She has been here for over 20 years now and loves it. Dr. Robyn has a background in Special Education and Psychology and started counseling more than 25 years ago. Her focus includes women’s issues, domestic violence, trauma and grief as well as anxiety and depression. She works with children, teens and adults including marriage counseling. Dr. Robyn is a Mom to a 31 year old son, Stephen who lives in Raleigh, NC and is a Cyber Security Specialist and a Stepmom to a 34 year old daughter, Marcie who lives in Hollywood, Fl. and is an EMT/Paramedic. She is married to the well -known long time resident of Bradenton, Neil Spirtas, who retired from his 30 year position with the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. Robyn was the founder of SWAT Networking – Successful Women Aligning Together. She was a radio talk show host and has been featured on many Television and radio shows. Her belief is that we all need support and guidance at times in our lives and she is here to be that support. She enjoys teaching people how to gain new ways to cope, aiming to help in all areas of their lives. Her loves are traveling, spending time with her family, dancing, animals and dining out with friends. Her favorite Charity is the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of her son, Michael who passed from the disease in 1987.
